Current Wildland Fires

Challenges are mounting for our nation’s wildland firefighters as the current wildland fires continue to turn the earth to ash.

Millions of acres are scorched and burning — animals, livestock, homes, and people placed in the path of unforgiving and unrelenting destruction.

More than 3 million acres have reportedly burned so far in 2021, with above 2 million noted from the previous year. As of November 11, 2021, eleven wildland firefighters have perished and several others have been injured.

Training is tough. But battling flames and the surrounding elements can be even tougher and more dangerous.

Support for our nation’s wildland firefighters is vital at this time.

Funds from the Eric Marsh Foundation go to wildland firefighters and their families/next of kin.
